Peonies Envy...
This isn't the first time (or the last) you've seen us blog about the glorious Peony. They are blooming everywhere! All over Van Vorst Park, in my neighbors' beautifully landscaped front yard, in my mother's backyard. Everywhere but my little city yard that lacks enough sunshine to keep them happy. Oh, how I wish I could grow them! So sad... Beware of me and my clippers, I may be helping myself to some of your gorgeous blooms!

These fluffy, romantic, heartstoppers don't need much fussing or "arranging". This amazing bouquet (left) was picked in Mom's garden and placed in a simple glass vase. Equally as striking, would be a single large headed peony in a bud vase or a glass bottle.
Let me leave you with some eyecandy, my favorite Antheia Peony bouquets that were created for weddings.

Fluffy white blooms with a stylish black mesh cuff (above right).
Cotton candy colored blooms and fragrant geranium leaves. (below)
Peonies accented with delicate lily of the valley and pink ranuncula.

Alas and alack, peonies face serious challenges north of the border. When I need a peonie fix, I can either look at the original painting on my wall (Empire or late-Victorian period) or for a special treat I shop flowers, get the real thing, smell them, touch them, what a splurge!
