Hot summer days...

The summer wedding season is in full swing and we have been fortunate to work with some amazing Brides at some of our favorite venues;  Hyatt on the Hudson, The Liberty House Restaurant, The Bowery Hotel NYC  to name a few.  This summer has had some of the hottest days I've experienced. I always worry about how our beautiful brides and their flowers will fare on these sweltering days.

Here are some tips for Brides planning a 2011 Summer wedding.

When choosing flowers for your summer wedding, try to choose flowers that are in locally grown in the  NJ/ NY area (dahlias, cox comb, hydrangea ), or available in similar hot weather climates (like calla lilies and roses from Ecuador or orchids from Hawaii).

Try to keep your flowers as fresh as possible. Keep your bouquets in water when possible and in a cool place.  The same goes for your  centerpieces, make sure they are well hydrated and spared from extreme heat conditions.

You can't control the weather, but you can definitely prepare for it.
